Hi, I'm Dave Hollins, I live in the UK near Banbury. I have been into R/C since the age of 11 and into helis since 1990. I have been building and flying Vario since about 1996. My real job is as an engineer with BMW at the Mini car plant in Oxford.

Hi, I wanted to build a twin rotor Chinook so by using the Vario fuselage I designed and built my own version of mechanics. I'm a Design Engineer with a small workshop at home so making all those "special" parts was not a problem. Take a look at my photographs that detail the design/build process, every component has been drawn first on CAD and then manufactured. Having been involved with Vario helicopters for the past 8 years wherever possible I have used their components.
